All food trucks operating within the Borough of Saddle River on commercial or public property is required to obtain a Type 1 fire permit as required by the NJ State Fire Code.

Upon inspection the following conditions must be met in order to obtain a valid permit:

1. All trucks must be a minimum of 10 feet away from all combustibles, structures, and other vehicles.
2. All fire extinguisher's must be the proper size and type with a valid tag. 
3. All suppression systems must have been inspected within 6 months with valid documentation available to the inspector at the time of the inspection.
4. Hood systems must be clean and free of excessive greace build up.
5. A functioning carbon monoxide detector must be located inside the vehicle while cooking.
6. All propane tanks must be properly secured and free from leaks.
7. All exhaust ports must be facing away from the public and free from combustibles.
