are proud to announce that on Tuesday 3/05/24 SRFD member Jake Scro was recognized by the NJ school boards association (Bergen County) as an Unsung Hero. Jake is the President of the Northern Highlands HS emergency services club. Jake is also a certified Firefighter & EMT, he is currently in the process of obtaining his fire inspector license all while being a senior Northern Highlands and maintaining a 3.4 GPA. The unsung hero award is awarded to students who make outstanding contributions to their schools and communities, even though they are often overlooked under traditional student recognition guidelines. Unsung heroes can be people who make their school a better place because of their warm personality, their empathy and concern for others. Congratulations Jake, we are all proud of you!!!
