For 2 days they attended hands on training in Electric Vehicle Emergency Response, Auto Extrication & Rescue, Search Techniques using a Thermal Camera, as well as Fire Behavior, Flowpath, Water Mapping, and Techniques to help Rescue Trapped Occupants. Wednesday they attended classroom sessions about Fire Attack Techniques, Policies and Procedures, and Initial Actions at Structure Fires, as well as Engine Driving and Pump Operations. To finish out the week they attended the convention collecting information and receiving demonstrations on tools, techniques apparatus, and services along with networking with firefighters from around the country. They brought back a wealth of knowledge and tactics they will share with the membership in the following weeks. SRFD strives to keep up with the latest techniques in the fire service to help protect our residents and all who travel through the Borough.
